A Brief History of Indian Lake Christian Service Camp

Indian Lake Christian Service Camp purchased 27 1/4 acres of land in Darlington, Maryland in 1966. The Camp was officially incorporated in June 1967. Our member churches participate in the camp's financial support, labor and prayer. Many volunteers help out year round to keep the camp's facilities and grounds in great shape.
After many work days and donations of time, equipment and monies, we held our first camp session on the new Darlington property in 1969.  Over the years the camp has grown to include a dining hall with a fully equipped kitchen, seven cabins, a nurses' cabin, staff cabin, canteen, chapel, two class shelters, maintenance building, pool (with licensed Pool Manger and Life Guard), basketball and volleyball courts and a softball field, a Caretaker's residence and bathhouse/showers. The camp has an amphitheater, campfire area and a nature trail. The camp complies with the health department code in all areas.

At the present time we have seven full weeks and two half-weeks of camp scheduled for youth. We also provide Men's and Women's and Children's Retreats, Rentals and Church Outings on the camp grounds. We can provide accommodations for 47 males and 48 females (including staff) in the cabins, making a capacity of 95 campers a week.  staff including teachers, deans, nurses, counselors, cooks and pool staff are Christians and are carefully selected for these positions.

The camp is winterized so we can use the facilities year-round.
