STATEMENT OF PURPOSE & DOCTRINE:

The purpose of the summer youth sessions of Indian Lake Christian Service Camp is to provide young people with religious education, training, and fellowship in a Christian setting. The camp is an extension of the ministry of the Christian Churches / Churches of Christ of the mid-Atlantic area.

 Our teachings are based upon the following doctrinal statement:

(a) The Bible is the complete infallible, and inspired Word of God, and it is our final authority for all beliefs and practices (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21).

(b) God is our loving and just heavenly Father and is the supreme and sovereign ruler of all the universe for all eternity (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 139; Ephesians 2:4-10).

(c) Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (Matthew 16:16; John 1:14). He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:25), lived a sinless. life (Hebrews 4:15), and died on the cross to receive God's punishment for the sins of mankind (I Peter 2:24). He was buried and then rose from the dead on the third day both physically and spiritually (I Corinthians 15:3-4). Christ is now in heaven with God, His Father, but He will return to gather all Christians into eternal life John 14:2-3) and send the wicked to eternal punishment in hell (Matthew 25:46).

(d) God's plan for our salvation is to:

1) believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son (Hebrews 11:6);

2) repent of sins (i.e., be sorrowful for and turn away from sin) (Acts 2:38);

3) confess Jesus Christ as the Son of God, our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10);

4) be baptized into Christ by immersion in water for remission of sins and to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38);

5) be faithful to Him throughout life (Revelation 2:10).

 Rules for acceptance into Indian Lake Christian Service Camp are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, gender, or disability .
